Dundas & Brooklyn Pedestrian Crossing
Dundas St. was connected through the Leslieville neighbourhood after WWII to create a vehicle thoroughfare between downtown and the suburbs. It has a very pedestrian-friendly 200m (a 2-minute walk) frequency of stoplights and signed crossings, except between Jones and Pape where there is a 400m gap. This is in the heart of a residential zone. Leslievillians regularly traverse this section of Dundas when traveling to Hideaway and Matty Eckler Parks, and to Gerrard Square, Gerrones, Queen St. Adding a signaled crossing will improve the pedestrian network of Leslieville between two of its most active social nodes.
